Ingredients

  • 4 slices of arnold Oatnut bread
  • ½ lb deli turkey slices
  • 4 slices bacon, crumbled
  • 1 small jar pimentos, drained
  • Paprika
  • Parsley, chopped
  • Mornay Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup gruyere cheese, separated into 2 cups
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to broil setting.
  2. In a medium sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat and slowly whisk in flour until thick paste forms.
  3. Slowly whisk in heavy cream and then add ½ portion of cheese and let simmer for 2-3minutes. 
  4. Season with salt and pepper and remove from heat once desired thickness is reached.
  5. Place bread in an oven safe dish and top each slice with turkey, then sprinkle with remaining cheese. 
  6. Pour Mornay sauce over each slice and top with crumbled bacon and pimentos. 
  7. Broil in oven until cheese is begins to brown. 
  8. Remove from oven and sprinkle with paprika and parsley.
